WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT ?
SEEDS.
All our seeds are from right here in the U.S. - why is this important? For starters, the amount of fossil fuel it requires to ship seeds from abroad is outrageous. The cultivation of beautiful healthy plants and their seeds here in our country ensures jobs here, boosting our economy, maintaining a stake in the nation's economy, as well as lending itself to restoring the natural agriculture so many of us are trying to get back to.
Non-Genetically Modified.
All our varieties , to the best of our knowledge, have not been developed through the mechanical transfer of genetic material between genera, families or kingdoms, or have been treated with irradiation. These are measures that modify seeds sterile. This is a practice used by the large seed producers to ensure re-purchase each season. We have no issue with profit, however, if it compromises the integrity of our right to produce what is rightfully ours, these practices are a threat. (GEN 1;23)
So, with some effort, it is possible to have as many seeds as the tins will hold for years and years to come. We don't see the necessity of buying more seeds than what we offer, which is the same amount (by weight) as you would purchase in packets at your local gardening center. Some collections are shipped in re-sealable bags. But no matter how reusable they are, they can only hold as many seeds as were sent. Our durable tins retain your seeds for up to 3 years, just as a resealable bag would, given they are dried properly. The tins are clearly labeled with the name of each variety, and fit neatly back in the durable and clearly marked box, saving shelf space and making containment simple and neat, between each season.
SIXTEEN VARIETIES.
Sixteen varieties have been chosen. These are the most popular and hearty varieties that can be grown in just about every climate. Also, we were sensible in editing what we offer. Many "seed kits" or "survival/emergency kits" include, what we believe to be, a waste; a waste of energy and money. Some, we have seen, include grains. This is unreasonable. The acreage needed to harvest a crop of wheat, for instance, for a family of four is not what the average American family has to commit. Some "kits" include several varieties of one vegetable. Careful. These are not necessarily hearty, and can prove to be a very frustrating scenario.

Your Vegetable Seed Collection.
Please consider this collection when deciding on a gift for someone. Also, these make such a meaningful offering to a school, retirement home or housing development, as well as neighborhoods and community gardens.
Bloom where you are planted!
We sure hope you enjoy the time you spend getting back to the land and appreciating what is rightfully yours. It doesn't require acres or an acre, for that matter. It requires some space in your yard, or in containers, water and care.
